Exodus 12:36

The Egyptians gave the Israelites valuable items such as gold, silver, and clothing. This act of generosity from the Egyptians was a way for them to make amends for the harsh treatment the Israelites had faced under their rule. The spoiling of the Egyptians can be seen as a way for the Israelites to receive restitution for their years of servitude. It was also a fulfillment of God's promise to deliver his people from bondage and provide for them as they embarked on their journey to the Promised Land.
