Effective date: June 11, 2026
These terms govern your use of Devout, operated by Holiander, Inc. (“Devout”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Devout.
The service
Devout is a subscription-based daily devotional application offering Scripture, reflections, reading plans, a reference library, prayer and journaling tools, and related features. We may add, change, or remove features over time.
Your account
You must provide accurate information when you register, and you are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use Devout. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.
Subscriptions and billing
- Devout is offered as a paid subscription. The current price and billing period are shown at sign-up.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.
- You may cancel at any time; your access continues until the end of the period already paid for.
- Payments are non-refundable except where required by law. Cancelling stops future charges.
- We may change pricing; we will give you reasonable notice before a change affects you.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the service — including attempting to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to it, scraping or bulk-extracting its content, reselling access, or using it to violate the law or the rights of others.
Your content
Your journal entries, prayers, and notes remain yours. You grant Devout only the limited permission needed to store, process, and display that content back to you in order to operate the service. You are responsible for the content you create.
Our content
The Devout application, its design, and its original written material are owned by Devout or its licensors and are provided for your personal, non-commercial devotional use. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works from them except as the service expressly allows. Scripture translations, church directory data, and other third-party material remain subject to their own licenses.
AI-generated content
Some reflections and other content are generated by artificial intelligence. They are offered for devotional encouragement and may contain inaccuracies. They are not a substitute for the guidance of Scripture, your church, or a qualified professional, and should not be relied upon as medical, legal, financial, or pastoral advice.
Disclaimers
Devout is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Devout will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Termination
You may stop using Devout and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms. On termination, your right to use the service ends, and your content is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use of Devout after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
