Genesis 12:20

After Joseph interpreted Pharaoh's dreams accurately, Pharaoh was impressed and recognized Joseph's wisdom and discernment. As a result, Pharaoh commanded his men to make arrangements for Joseph and his family. They were to prepare for Joseph to be sent away with his wife and all that he had. This act of sending Joseph away with all his possessions was a sign of honor and respect from Pharaoh towards Joseph. It also symbolized Pharaoh's gratitude and acknowledgment of the important role Joseph would play in Egypt. By sending Joseph away with his family and possessions, Pharaoh ensured that Joseph would have everything he needed to be successful in the new position of power that Pharaoh was about to grant him. This verse reflects the beginning of Joseph's journey from slavery to a position of great influence and authority in Egypt, as well as the fulfillment of God's plan for Joseph's life.

One theological interpretation of the verse "And Pharaoh commanded his men concerning him: and they sent him away, and his wife, and all that he had," is that it showcases the sovereignty of God in the midst of difficult circumstances. In this verse, we see Pharaoh giving orders to release Abraham and his family after discovering that Sarah was actually his wife. Despite Pharaoh's initial intentions to harm Abraham, God intervenes and ensures their safe departure. This demonstrates God's protective hand over His people, even in the face of powerful adversaries. It also highlights the importance of obeying God's commands, as Abraham's obedience to God's instruction to say that Sarah was his sister ultimately led to their deliverance.
