Q. 110
What does God forbid in the eighth commandment?
A.
Not only such theft and robbery as are punished by the government, but also all wicked schemes and devices, such as false weights and measures, deceitful merchandising, counterfeit money, and excessive interest, by which we may get our neighbour's possessions. He forbids, in short, all greed and the misuse and squandering of his gifts.
