Devout's church directory starts from public records, so you can find a church near you. Every church has a basic listing: its name, address, website and phone number.
Church-maintained listings
A church can take over its listing to add service times, describe a first visit and keep its details current. Those listings carry "Maintained by the church" and the church's own words, so we ask something of the churches that maintain them.
Church-maintained listings on Devout are for congregations that hold to historic, orthodox Christian faith, as confessed in the Apostles' and Nicene Creeds, and to the Church's traditional teaching on marriage and human sexuality.
The person who claims a listing confirms this for their church, and churches confirm it again each year when they check their listing.
If a church doesn't hold to it
It can't maintain its listing on Devout. If we learn that a church-maintained listing doesn't meet the standard, we remove the church's management of it and tell its managers why.
