Spurgeon's Daily Meditations
He careth for you
“Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?”
Christ teaches us divinity in a sparrow. The little birds — they have no garners, no thought for the morrow, no plan for the winter; and yet they sing all day, and not one of them falls to the ground without thy Father.
Are ye not much better than they? Then trust thy Father much better than they trust him. He clothes the lily — will he not clothe thee? He feeds the raven — will he not feed thee? He has not made thee his son to leave thee orphaned in the world.
Anxious heart, be still. The hand that holds the universe holds thy daily bread. The eye that watches over all watches over thee. Cast thy cares; lift up thy head; and walk through the day as a son of the King.
