Spurgeon's Daily Meditations
Now is the day of salvation
“Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”
Sinner, you have heard of salvation; perhaps you have thought of it; perhaps you have even sighed for it. But have you closed with Christ? Now is the accepted time. Not when the heart is older and harder; not when convenience permits; not when feelings rise — now.
Do not say, 'Tomorrow.' Tomorrow is the devil's day; today is God's. Tomorrow may never come, but if it does, the gospel will not be more inviting then than now. The Spirit may not be striving with you; the Saviour may not be calling; the door may not be open. Why wait for less?
Behold — twice he says it, that we may not miss it. Behold the gift, and take it. Behold the Saviour, and trust him. Behold the day, and embrace it. Now.
