Him That Cometh, I Will Not Cast Out

“Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.”

— John 6:37

Note carefully the word: not him that has come, but him that cometh. The promise is for every fresh approach, not only for the first. He receives the sinner, and he receives the saint who comes to him again, weary and stained and slow.

Many Christians believe Christ welcomed them once but doubt whether he welcomes them today. Hear his word: in no wise cast out. There is no qualification — no asking what you bring, no measuring whether your repentance is deep enough or your faith strong enough. He who said this once says it forever.

Come, then. Come without delay; come without elaborate preparation; come with the very sin that makes you ashamed. The condition for coming is that you come. The welcome is fixed. Christ has given his word, and his word stands.
