The Spirit of Christ
“If any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.”
It is not enough to have read of Christ. It is not enough to admire Christ. It is not even enough to follow Christ at a distance. To belong to him, his Spirit must be in you.
And what is the Spirit of Christ? It is the same Spirit that rested upon him at his baptism, that drove him into the wilderness, that anointed him to preach good news, that raised him from the dead. That Spirit, the very Spirit of the Son, is given to every one who is his.
Do not be content with anything less. Many Christians live with so little of the Spirit's working that they could not be distinguished from a kind unbeliever. But the Spirit of Christ has been given — given to make Christ real in you, to make his voice audible, his presence felt, his power available. Receive him afresh today.
