The Spirit Dwelleth in You
“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?”
Stop, and let this word settle upon you: the Spirit of God dwelleth in you. Not visits — dwelleth. Not in a tabernacle in Jerusalem — in you, in this body, on this day, through this hour.
The believer is a temple. The same Presence that filled the Holy of Holies fills this small, ordinary life. The same Glory that Moses could not look upon has made its home in your heart. The wonder of it is not that we feel so little; the wonder is that we know so little.
Live today as a temple. Be careful what you welcome in. Be slow with words, for the Spirit dwells within and listens. Be quick to listen, for he speaks. Walk softly, walk reverently, walk gladly — you are the house of God.
