Walk in the Spirit
“If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.”
It is one thing to live in the Spirit; it is another to walk in the Spirit. To live in the Spirit is the standing fact of every Christian — the Spirit has been given. To walk in the Spirit is the daily, hourly act of letting him direct each step.
Many Christians live in the Spirit but walk after the flesh. They have his life in them and his guidance ignored. They begin the morning leaning on him, and by midday they are running on their own strength again.
The walk is in moments. The walk is in the question, asked under your breath: Holy Spirit, what now? Shall I speak? Shall I be silent? Shall I forgive this? Shall I refuse that? He answers gently, often without words, and the Christian who learns to listen finds he has been walking in the Spirit all day.
