Most of what you can change about Devout lives in one place — the Settings page in your account menu.
Your profile
Profile holds your display name, your email address, and your password. Changing your email sends a verification message to the new address before it takes effect.
Your display name is what Devout uses to greet you. It's not shown to anyone else.
Your home church
You can set a home church from the Churches directory. Once saved, your home church appears in your weekend note, and shows on your profile.
If you change churches, you can update or remove your home church at any time from settings.
Email preferences
Devout sends only what you've opted into:
- The Saturday note — a short weekend reflection by email, if you'd like it in your inbox.
- Account and billing messages — receipts, password resets, and similar essentials. These can't be turned off, since they keep the service usable.
You can change your email preferences from settings, and every email also includes a one-click unsubscribe.
Your tradition
The tradition you chose during onboarding can be changed any time. See Your tradition for details.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from the bottom of the settings page. Deletion is permanent — your journal entries, prayer list, and account information are removed.
If you'd like to keep your writing, export your journal first (PDF or JSON) from settings. Deletion takes effect within a short period; we keep limited records only where required for tax or legal compliance.
