This page covers the 7-day preview, plans, payment, cancelling, and resuming.
The 7-day preview
New accounts begin with a 7-day full preview — every feature available, nothing held back, and no credit card on file. The preview is meant to be enough time to settle into the daily reading and decide whether the rhythm fits your life.
When the seven days end, nothing happens automatically. Devout pauses, and you choose whether to subscribe. Because there's no card on file, there can be no surprise charge.
Plans
One plan, two prices:
- Annual — $140 a year (about $11.67 a month), with two months free.
- Monthly — $14 a month.
Both plans include the entire service — there are no tiers, no add-ons, and no upsells inside the app.
Subscribing
Open Billing from your account menu and choose a plan. Devout uses Stripe to handle payment — your card details go to Stripe, never to us. After payment, your subscription is active immediately.
Payment methods
Stripe accepts most major credit and debit cards. To change your card, open Billing and choose Manage payment method. That takes you to Stripe's secure billing portal, where you can update the card on file and view your billing history.
Receipts
Every charge is receipted by email to the address on your account. You can also view all past invoices from the Stripe billing portal at any time.
Cancelling
Open Billing and choose Cancel subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for — your access continues until then, and no further charges are made.
You can resume a cancelled subscription at any time before the period ends. Reopen Billing and choose Resume subscription, and the upcoming renewal is restored.
If your payment fails
If a card payment doesn't go through, Stripe will retry over several days, and you'll see a "payment past due" notice on your Billing page. Open Manage payment method to update the card before access lapses.
Refunds and questions
Cancel anytime — you keep what you've already paid for through the end of the period. For refund requests or anything billing-related you can't sort out on your own, write to us and we'll help.
